FAQs

How much time will children be engaged in distance learning each day?

Students will have approximately 2-4 hours of work to engage in each day, with opportunities for supplemental or extension activities for two consecutive weeks.

Work will include online work, as well as offline work (such as design thinking activities).

What does a typical day look like?

How can I enroll my child?

Complete and submit the form on our registration page.

How will parents know what children should be doing?

Prior to the start of the studio, ATL will send an email to students and families with a personalized plan for the weeks ahead. Modules will be posted in Canvas or Gooru. Families will be sent announcements using Remind.

What online learning platforms will students be using?

  • We will use Gooru as the “hub” for the studio playlist.

  • We will use Zoom as our platform for video conferencing.

  • We will utilize a variety of additional online learning tools such as Nearpod, Padlet, and FlipGrid.

What if a child needs extra help?

Each child will have a coach who checks in with them individually or in a small group each week.

Coaches will also offer office hours where students can join them through a Zoom meeting link to ask questions or discuss assignments.

How can I provide feedback?

ATL will send out surveys to get feedback from families and students about their experience in the virtual studio. We will use this feedback to adjust structures, planning, and concept design, keeping in mind that families have diverse needs and some structures may not work for everyone.
